Welcome to the weird stuff In my life. Since childhood I was always facinated by science fiction, Star Trek and the like. Funny how the things seen on Star Trek are coming real.

Sometimes I still like to think back and want to build things that are weird or wacky. I still would like to build the ultimate.... A dream recorder. That of course will never happen for me. I always had invention ideas as a kid, but never made any of them. I did learn electronics so I could make some of those things I wanted and was facinated by. Of course I got sidetracked along the way building metal detectors, radio receivers, transmitters, prank lie detector, long range metal locators and more.

A few years back around 1982 I read a book about this person who claimed that he could hear dead people. From what I remember, He used a tape player. Said that he turned the tape recorder on and let it run while he read a book etc. When played back he would have to maybe speed it up or slow it down to hear the voices. Said it would sound like a basket of strawberries falling, as if that explains it, as I never got that one. That meant that the speed needed to be turned down because the voices were too fast. He said one time a car drove by and when he played it back, he heard a voice say "get a horse". Dont know anymore than that on that particular story I remember.

Now just yesterday I listened to coast to coast am radio show where they talked about "Franks Box". This device is suppose to do the same thing, communicate with the dead people. I looked at the diagrams briefly, and there were more than one of them. I did hear about the use of white noise somewhere but the other am-fm one I haven't figured out yet how they use it. I know from experience that you can take a LM386 audio amplifier chip and pick up radio stations from the great amplification that it has. It also rectifies the signal and amplifies it. What I mean is that I put together the amplifier circuit, only to amplifiy sound by about 200 amplification. Amplifiing the sound it hears by 200. All I had to do was to touch one of the input leads with my finger or a wire and presto I heard a radio station on the 540-1710 kHz band. So, with that said, it's very possible that what they believe is dead people could actually be live people. I can also tell you that you could stage it too. yeah you could have someone hear your questions through a wireless spy mic transmitter and then all they have to do is push the talk switch on a transmitter nearby (walkie Talkie-cb radio etc) and presto, you have a voice answering your question. As for the white noise, I dont know as I dont experience with that, but I will just to see if it works. What I believe is, people are hearing what they want to hear. What they hear could be in their minds, what they think they hear, or there could be some radio interference coming through. you see the thing with all of this, and I have heard the word snake oil, is that you can say and do whatever you want, and no one can dis-prove you. If you say you have a device to hear the dead, believe me there will be people who will believe you and even help you make it a big deal to all to see and hear. We are so gullable, we will let our minds believe anything. Now I am not saying it cant be done, as I cant dis-prove it either. So with that said, I could build me abox or device that I claim will work too, and that I bet I could make believers out of many of you. In fact I could rival "Franks Box" and be the one know now as genius behind the newest tecnology box hearing the dead. In fact I could take Franks idea, add a few bells and whistles, and bingo, have a better box. Since I have been facinated by the very idea to do what others could not do, I would study his findings, maybe make a decision as how maybe the spirits operate and come up with a newer device. You know I saw a ouija board when I was younger, and i know the other person on the otherside was not moving it. It spelled out words and said things that were not very nice. They were cruel, and wanted to do harm to a relative. It could have been joking I dont know. We also recieved other information, like I was going to have 5 children and live in a certain town. That never happened. Anyway After that incident of it saying bad things, that was all I ever used one. Mind you this was the second time I ever used this thing. Two days in a row I believe. It was the last time I ever used one as it scared the heck out of me so much, I knew it was real and It was not a toy anymore. I will still never use one, ever. This is also the reason I am hesitant about building something. If it works, I could run into the same problem, unless I figure out a way to control it.
I would like to speak to the dead, my family only. Maybe a few great people too. The question is how do you get specific. That could be my selling point; Being specific. There is a part of me that says this might not be a good idea, and best left alone, but if I could reach my relatives, then it would good. Its the unknown that I dont really want to talk to unless they are friendly. it is possible I guess that we share this world and we are not alone. If the spirits are electromagnetic then they are getting screwed up daily by all our radio signals in the air, jillions of signals and energies we produce. Also if they are magnetic then we should be able to get a frequency fix on them. Since they do not produce sound pressure to make a microphone work, what do they do? that was the reason for all the white noise and different sounds Franks box makes available for them to use, still trying to figure out what works or not. Its all just a small percenatge if it works and if it does very small percentage you will hear anything. Here is what I will be thinking about when I design a different unit. Number one, spirits can move a device on a board with two people involved. The center piece the key. Next white noise and such so spirits can manipulate it to make us hear them. Then I would also wonder about the speed, as i would need a speed regulator. If they would speak too fast or too slow, it would make it normal. A filter is needed to remove all the noise other than what is used by the spirit, so words are legitable.
You get the idea. Build your own and compare it to other devices. I dont have a diagram of mine yet as I just conceived it, so you will have to come back if you want to be the first one to have one, or make one.
